Yes... Finally I shut him up.
Who you may ask? My Dad...
It all happened during that faithful evening
(imagine the screen blurring and what happened last Sunday appears...)
Its was classes from 9-5 and I even got a 100 bucks allowance from Dad before he went for his Grand Prix, but things turn sour during dinner time...
Uncle: Eh, I think your driving licence is pretty much a useless piece of paper in your wallet... You have not driven for like so long...
Me: What to do? I have no car to drive in... Since Mum is going to Taiwan, I wouldn't mind driving her car to pick sis up everyday!!!
Dad: Well, you need practice... Besides (Looks and tells the entire extended family) your driving skills suck... You speed all the time...
Me: Excuse me!!! I like speed only once and that was the first time I driven after I gotten my licence...
And he keeps on going on and on about how bad I am... Without even encouraging me to go improve... In short, he kept on lowering me to a point I felt so mad I said, "Fine, I will keep taking buses and train until I could afford a car on my own". Saying this has been like my second or third time in a conversation that has sparked into arguments as I knew that it was bad for his ego since he can't afford a car for me even after being pestered by my relatives...
Hence, we ended up screaming at one another in a restaurant while I teared up badly!!!
You may find it pretty strange as to why such a silly thing could spark such a catastrophe...
Well, I feel pretty stupid and inferior, let me throw in insecure and unconfident about myself as my driving skill in fact, is pretty bad and I have no avenue to practice making me feel really bad whenever I get around friends whom actually drive... In short, peer pressure... Him on the other hand is an egoistic creature that needs to be agreed upon every statement... In short, since when a father allows his son to correct him, worst, in public...
So, the feud turned into Cold War... He refused to even pick my calls... Childishness!!!
So what happened today was that my mum was flying off to Taiwan and she asked me to drive her car and send her to my Granny's place to pick up my grandma and grandpa, drop them at the office, go to Lot 10 with grandpa to get him a suit and drive my brother home... Amazingly, after not driving for more than half a year, I managed to pull through with a not-so-many lousy turnings and bad reversing... The best part? My dad arrived at my grandma's place and saw my mum's car and went "WHO DROVE THE CAR HERE? DID MUM GIVE YOU PERMISSION? DOES SHE KNOW!!!
As all were answered in the affirmative, minus the adventure I had in which would give him a heart attack, he blackened face was sorta a consolation for the Sunday ordeal. I have to also drive home with it and I took like 15 mins to park my mum's car back into the garage... He couldn't even say a word... Yes, yes, I am evil to my dad, but well, similar to sibling rivalry, you just wanna "kenakan" your dad sometimes... Yes, I still love him... But his temper needs some twitching!!!

I cringe whenever my brother drives when he's back from Singapore.
